Haha... found another great Evelyn Tan MV. There is something about Evelyn that just makes her special. However, I also cannot explicitly explain what is that attribute that created that magic.
Over the years, three ladies have stood the test of time (i.e. > 10 years) and have continuously brought me great joy(each in their own special way) at the mention of their names. They are my first crush, my JC crush and Evelyn Tan. Sadly, I have lost touch with my JC crush, but I sure hope that she is getting along well :)

Trip to the clinic
Went to see the doctor because my ear was clogged up with wax again! I think that's it's becoming a yearly routine for me. Anyway, the doctor gave me this huge bottle of hydrogen peroxide to drip into my ear. Considering that I am suppose to just drip 3 drops each night, I think she gave me enough to last at least 5 life times. Seriously, I am not kidding! So if anyone has wax in your ear, feel free to come look for me. I'll help you flood them out. Also had this rash on my leg and so she gave me this cream that they normally prescribe for baby's buttocks. Hehe... My leg must be really special :)
The nurse was also very nice. We chatted for a while and she was telling me that she had to ask every lady that she sees when was their last period just to make sure that they dun give any pregnant mothers medication which might be harmful to their baby. Haha... maybe she was not sure of my gender but was too embarrassed to ask, so she just hinted that she needed that information if I were a girl. Who knows.... after all face transformer has affirmed that I do have some feminine features :p

Two songs
Recall that I was saying that some songs have the power to bring you back in time? Haha... this one apparently brings one into the future and back as well.
Anyway, I just found the song that brings me back to the time of my first crush. Love this song and I think Evonne did a great job singing it. But her cover of it made me realise one thing. One person can never ever achieve the magic that a duet produces. Hmm... this is the reason why I think that it's such a waste to society if a great girl remains single. Haha... And that is why there is something to rejoice about, there are at least two great ladies who are getting married this year :D

The mark of a true student
It's 11:45pm now and I am still in office studying for my exam. The reason why I am still here? I spent the whole morning on MSN, after which I went home to sleep the whole afternoon, and then I spent the most part of the evening on MSN again. Haha...The thing is that the exam is a very easy subject, which is making it very difficult for me to find the motivation to study for it. Forcing myself to go through the homework exercises now so as to make sure that I am at least familiar which the topic. It's easy to study for a subject that one fairly understands yet feels the need to revise, because every now and then you will gain further insight into the subject. But it takes a lot more to be able to force yourself to study i) a subject which is boringly easy or a subject that is ii) unnecessarily complicated. And that, to me, is the mark of a true student.
On asian gals and guys
Haha... the below is a comment found in one of the MVs on YouTube. Wittingly funny and amazingly insightful.
Talks like a typical asian girl... All they care about are brand names, cute little animals, skin whitening products and of course the weight loss fads they impose on themselves instead of healthy exercise... but ask them about the Kyoto Protocol....................
It's these kind of women that have turn asian guys into pussies.... hell, i guess i cannot complain too much, I'm married to one of those pretty little girls.....

Singapore's education has come a long way
Singapore has many things of which I are proud of. One of them is our education. Now they are talking about whether they would want to teach dialects in schools.
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/342685/1/.html
The article reported the following statement by MP Chan Soo Sen:
"Culturally, I see its importance, but in the overall scheme of things, is it useful? I would leave it [to] the student – if a student wants to take, then he should not be denied the opportunity."
I don't really know the motivation on why he asked if it was useful. Personally, I have never been a big fan of learning or doing things just because they are useful. Sometimes, I feel that modern society, especially within the Asian communities, has become too goal-oriented for my liking. Personally, I don't think that it hurts to spend some time to explore things just for the fun of it, to embrace the desire to learn more about the world we live in and to satisfy one's self-actualization needs.
That said, if they are planning to make every poor kid learn it in school (i.e. with exams and homework), then they better make sure that it is useful. Haha... I can imagine the amount of cursing and swearing these kids will mutter when forced to learn something which they cannot see a value in (haha... ironically the swearing will prob be done in dialects).
From an institute's point of view, any course that is offered will incur cost and thus can only be offered if the bottom line works out. We are still living in the real world where only some dreams come true. And that is why it is actually very heartwarming to hear something like "if a student wants to take, then he should not be denied the opportunity".

My first crush's wedding
I am looking forward to my trip back to Singapore this summer. There are quite a few weddings that I will be attending. Especially looking forward to the wedding of my "partner" and her lovely groom. Haha... she said that I was more excited than her when I saw the ring. Haha... she's probably right. It's usually more fun to see other people get married :p
However, one wedding that I will be missing will be the wedding of my first crush because school would have started by then. And contrary to popular belief, I seriously dun think that she postponed the date to make sure that I couldn't attend the wedding. I am not that egoistic, I know that I cannot be that important.
Anyways, my first crush dropped me an email a couple of days ago to say that she's ordering some stuff for her wedding online and would like to get me to bring it back for her. Hehe... so now I am very happy. Although I can't be there for the wedding, but I could still do my part to help out in some tiny aspect of it. And somehow that just brings me immense joy.
My first crush has played quite a big role in my views on BGR. She is after all, the first person that made me realize that girls are actually lovely creatures, and not as evil as what the other guys say (haha... this was back in primary school). Yup so technically, she was the one who "unleashed" me on the poor girls that came after her. I dun believe that I have told anyone before, but she is the main motivation of the "first gear theory". She was also the one who made me realize that it is possible for a guy and a girl to be good friends, even after things have become weird. All it takes is a willingness to try and a heart that yearns for nothing more than just the happiness of the other party. Haha... she was also the one who taught me to be humble. She ate my queen during our first game of chess way back in primary school.
That said, she is definitely not the reason for my flirty behaviour. In fact when I do meet her (which is very seldom and usually by chance), I always feel the need to behave myself. She has this "very good girl" feel to her and I cannot help but just put on my best manners when I am with her. Haha... and I know that it's not because I wanna impress her or something (haha... since I am still full of nonsense when I am out with a girl that I like), but she just have this aura of "goodness" around her. Btw, did I mention that she studied social work in NUS and is now training to work in a Christian ministry.
Well, I have always said that girls from Fairfield are a great catch, and my first crush is probably the best of them all. But sorry guys, she's taken. Go find someone else :p

Cool, jobs are everywhere
"Almost 240,000 jobs were created in Singapore last year, but only 40,000 graduates entered the job market."
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/342340/1/.html
Eh... so the 240,000 jobs were all looking for graduates? Wow!
Btw, I got a story to share....
Friend: "Hey there's this party with 240 hot models, and I heard that only 40 of the ladies are there with a date. You wanna join the party?"
Me: "Great. Count me in!"
Friends: "Cool! Btw, the remaining 200 are guys. Anyway, don't think that the information is relavant, but hey just to let you know yah. See you there."

Feeling rich
Yippee... My paycheck just came in this morning.... and so did my tax refund too! For the past few months, the Fed has been holding part of my income as tax but they realized that they had been holding too much, so they returned the excess, which was quite a sizable amount. Just yesterday, I didn't even have enough in my account to settle my credit card bills. Hehe... today I am back in the green again :)

Lesson on makeup
Yesterday was a friend's birthday, so we gathered at a friend's house to celebrate. Anyway, the ladies gathered together and started chatting at the later part of the party and I was feeling a bit stoned by then, so I just sat there to listen to what they were talking about. At some point, they started to talk about makeup, which was actually quite interesting.
The revelation for me was this: A lot of the girls that I like have big eyes (e.g. evelyn tan) but then when it comes to makeup, I am attracted by girls who put on a lot of eyeshadow (think korean girls). What I learnt however is that if you already have big eyes, then you shouldn't do too much to your eyes, but if you have small eyes, then some eye-shadow can really do wonders. So at the end of the day, like some many things in life, it's just a matter of using the makeup to create some form of balance. Haha... so now I know why I don't necessarily like girls with big eyes and lots of eyeshadow. It's not as simple as 1+1=2.

Singapore opens matchmaking institute in May
Singapore is going to have a matchmaking institute. That's so cool... Haha... looks like there is a market for matchmaking in Singapore and the region. I dunno how they intend to do the database, but seriously if they were to put more thought into the information that they are going to collect, they could potentially answer a lot of interesting questions with regards to relationships. Someone who has some basic knowledge of multivariate regression (or Design of Experiments) could try to building a dynamic model to come up with a continously evolving compatiability test which I think would be far superior to any static test that we have at the present moment. Unfortunately (but I could be wrong here), my guess is that the database is going to be merely to faciliate the flow of information and not so much as for the gathering of data for insights into relationships.
Anyway this is just one of my ideas which I just dun have the time to work out. Seriously, if I could find a wife who is willing to support me, I'll just drop out of school and start researching on stuff that will actually benefit society.

Excited
Hehe... I just recieved my learner's driving license (i.e. I only pass theory) in the mailbox yesterday. Plus I have found a friend who is leaving this summer and thus planning to sell her car. Hehe... I am going to have my own car by May.
Haha... ok, now is really the time for me to start learning how to drive. Actually it is quite scary considering that I have never driven in my whole life up to this point.
